find us faithful.

sometimes in life, we go through valleys of weeping. sometimes in life, we find ourselves defeated. too defeated to know what to do or what to think. we feel we've not matched up to who God wants us to be. we feel that we can't seem to do anything right. so often even feeling that we just want to give up on ourselves. we wonder why God doesn't alter our personalities? and why doesn't God make us more like Him? He is. He's just not finished yet. until He is, His grace is sufficient to overcome our flaws. His grace is enough. we wear a 'under construction' sign. and God's still working on us. we might not see how He does it, but He does. so we can place all our years of difficulty on the altar before God as a gift for Him to turn into benefit and beauty, we can invite God to fill in the space where we feel we didn't measure up.
one day, we will be made perfect. one day, we will see Him face to face. one day, there will be no more tears and weeping. because when that day comes, He will wipe away all the tears of our eyes. one day, we will be with Him. He has kept an inheritance in heaven for us. this life's journey. this long pilgrimage. our lives on earth are just a passing through.
at 3am yesterday, there was a sudden gush of very very very very strong wind. it was scary. the strongest wind i've ever felt. was that how the people felt when the cyclone was coming..? hiding under my blankets... the reality of life and death sank in. my whole family could just be gone the next moment if a cyclone really came. and if i died like that, would i have had things that i had not said to people or have not done? we're like flowers, we can be here today and gone tomorrow, we're like a wave tossed in the ocean, and a vapour in the wind, but still, He hears us when we're calling, He catches us when we're falling, and He tells us that we are His.
find us faithful.
we're pilgrims on the journey of the narrow road.
and those who've gone before us line the way.
cheering on the faithful, encouraging the weary.
their lives a stirring testament to God's sustaining grace.
surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses.
let us run the race not only for the prize.
but as those who've gone before us let us leave to those behind us
the heritage of faithfulness passed on through Godly lives.
oh may all who come behind us find us faithful.
may the fire of our devotion light their way.
may the footprints that we leave, lead them to believe.
and the lives we live inspire them to obey.
oh may all who come behind us find us faithful.
find us faithful dear Lord.
