what respect?

STUDENTS NOWADAYS HAVE NO RESPECT FOR TEACHERS. ZERO RESPECT.
they ignore what you say, call you names, shout vulgarities at you. they purposely do things to spite you. students treat teachers like junk. RUDE AND DEFIANT. when teachers punish students a little, parents complain. what is a school becoming into? probably, one day, all teachers should go on strike.
many teachers want to do their best, but often they get discouraged when they try their best but students don't appreciate it at all. everyday after school, many teachers go home with a heavy heart. teachers choose teaching to teach. not to tolerate all the nonsense and scolding from students.
nothing works now, hard or soft punishment, students don't learn, they don't care. whatever they feel like doing, they do it, without any thought whether what they are doing is right. they don't even know or care about what is right and wrong. when teachers tell them that their behaviour is wrong, they say it is the teachers who are wrong. they refuse to apologise, they reject whatever you say.
everyone talks about protecting the students, then how about the teachers? teachers are the real victims in school, but who will protect the teachers??

22 july

chicken or egg came first? chicken. coz God is the creator who created animals... finally today was the day of the 'chicken or egg' seminar. was rather disappointed in 5 girls who initially promised to come, but none of them turned up. haiz..

anyway, i learnt today that all of us are as guilty as people we read in newspapers who kill and rape. we are no better than those people because to a holy God, once we break one law (e.g lying), it is as good as breaking all the laws (e.g. murder, theft etc).

went to get M a present together w B and PL. surprised her at the food court with a tulip and an esprit top! B and I are a little 'flower-idiot'. couldn't differentiate between a tulip and a lily... so malu-ating!

am thankful for the evening with them. it was another good time of catching up and sharing.. they add so much laughter and joy into my life... haha. really thank God for creating friends like them. they're amazing-at times they are jokers, at times bible study teachers, at times shopping mates, at times holiday partners, at times advisors, at times correctors, at times encouragers, at times makan buddies, at times co-workers........... *and the list goes on. M, you're one of them as well! (hope you like the nice handmade bd card!)

.thank you all.

/many of us are tired... but press on! the Christian life and serving God was never meant to be easy anyway/

tuesday- the newspaper day

i was flipping through the newspaper today and a few headlines caught my attention.
1. Tsunami kills 86 in Java
2. Islamic leader dies after car hits wild boar
3. Suicide verdict on man found burnt near dad's tomb
4. Maid raped by boss on 1st day of work
5. Hubby admits battering wife to death.
-He flung an alarm clock at her face
-Punched her
-Threw an 8.5kg fan at her
-Yanked her by the hair
(even after her face was drenched with blood)
-Hit her head with ironing board

There was also an aritcle which stated that everyday, one person in Singapore commits suicide.

it's just heart breaking to see news like that each time i read the newspapers. natural disasters, people taking their own life, murder, rape, people dying in accidents... makes me look forward more to going to heaven.. where there is no sickness, no worries, no sadness, no sin. believe in Jesus Christ, and heaven will be your destination after you leave earth...

*another interesting thing i saw on the newspaper was of this lady who died. the orbituary was rather huge. she had 11 children, 9 children in law, 29 grandchildren, 7 grandchildren in law, 13 great grandchildren. a total of 69 close family members. wow... imagine that! SIXTY NINE!

forgiven

i'm forgiven...
it is always better to tell the truth than to hide it. people around are often more ready and willing to forgive than what we expect. i am privileged to have been the receiver of God's forgiveness and the forgiveness of 2 people.

got an email from a dear friend, saying that her dad has been opening up to the Gospel. amazing... hearing how she slowly started to forgive and show love to her father touched my heart. dear Lord, i pray that you will open uncle's heart to the truth, that He will come to know you... so dear friend, never stop praying for the salvation of your parents and of your family members. same to all of us who have loved ones who have yet to know Christ. keep on praying and trusting in Him.

M reminded me of my 6th of May entry-"a prayer for a friend". it's the 9th of July, and my prayer has been proven answered. she's back! very very very happy!!! thank you Lord. even though she had a rough time, God brought her back.
had a good talk with 3 gd friends. chatted from 7pm until abt 12midnight at JP macs. we just sat there and talked. appreciate the sharing.
thks B for listening and understanding, and especially for reminding me that our God is gracious. that meant alot to me.

thanks student

was pouring today when i reached the school i am teaching at. there was a student with 2 of his friends. his 2 friends were sharing an umbrella. he had an umbrella to himself... then he said to me, "cher, you need umbrella?" so he shared his umbrella with me. THANKS... haiz, can't remember how he looks or who he is. i should have taken note of his name and given him some merit points! i only knew that i could give students merit points after that... THANK YOU student. i think when i leave the school, i'll really miss some of the students that i got to know...

an accident

2 cars on the road.
1 police motorcycle.
1 policeman.
1 bent umbrella.
1 side of a sandal.
a pool of blood.

that was what i saw today while i was in my grandfather's taxi along the road between imm and jurong east mrt. mom said that one of the car's windscreen was broken. the car must have knocked into a pedestrian. the person must have hit the windscreen and landed on the floor. the pool of blood was scary. i wonder if the person being knocked is alive. hope he/she is....... fragile life.
