"same same... but different."

i had an amazing trip. met many nice and friendly vietnamese. the uncle who packs bread for us every morning, the tour guide who's favorite word is 'ya', the lady who sells cashew nuts, the lady who jumped out infront of me who sells t shirts, the girl who rowed the boat, the uncle who rented us the motorbikes. got to know other people too, like the new jap friend i made on the boat, the girl who sat beside me on the plane back, the aunties and uncles we met at the airport on our way back.

it was especially fun getting to know AMK's 3 friends. i like aunty jilyn. she's so cool la. her name stands for Jesus I Love You Never ending.. heard her share about her so called life story on the way back from muine (beach), as she was sharing, i could feel my eyes welling up with tears... God changes people. God's grace. it's amazing. she has her own business now, selling cute little things like hello kitty tissue papers and doing catering too! thank You Lord for saving aunty jilyne.

got to know fel better too! hee. she's so funny, good with directions & food, easy to strike a conversation with and always encouraging!
wei too, always so thoughtful, waiting for anyone who lags behind and being there silently helping me pack my bag. (:
aunty lai lin is also so patient and generous to us and speaks about Jesus to anyone, anywhere.
aunty mohkeng has been an inspiration too. i pray that You keep her close to you. let her be a light that shines for You in her workplace.
aunty lilian gave us a treat, and hearing her share about her work in vietnam is an encouragement.
aunty sharon and aunty elsa are so daring lah! aunty sharon dared to be the pillion rider with me riding the bike! aunty sharon is so sporty! she's 40 plus but still dares to do silly funny things with us. heee. but when she's talking about Christian stuff, she's serious and speaks from her heart.

thank You Lord for protecting us. riding the bike was quite dangerous actually. we were in shorts and t shirt, without helmets, riding in a foreign land, at quite a fast speed, with vehicles zooming by us on the narrow road.. anything could have happened. but God kept all of us safe. wei, fel, and i. all first time motorbikers. i loved the feeling of the wind blowing across my face as i rode that bike at 70km/h. even wei, who's afraid of roads rode the bike la!

we had so much fun talking to each other and sharing about our lives, during bus trips, in the hotel room, under the star filled sky by the beach at night, hearing the sound of the crashing waves. we saw a shooting star! that was amazing. saw sanddunes for the first time. it's like there are many small mountains of sand. the sand is so tiny and clean and soft. once again, seeing all these made me look to God in amazement at the works of His creation. such a mighty God who would care for one such as i. there are too many things to write about, but i guess for us, this trip would be a memory that we would look back and laugh and smile about.

i enjoyed EVERY moment we had together.
really.
appreciate your presence.
thank you.

"same same" (:

help me to trust.
